Expected Conduct


 

WHEREAS:  The Prairie Island community Council has the power under the constitution of the Prairie Island Mdewakanton Sioux Community to promulgate Resolutions governing the conduct of business in the community; and

WHEREAS:  The Prairie Island Community Council has exercised its constitutional mandate and has decreed that various forms of community behavior will no longer be tolerated.

WHEREAS:  Any person found to be guilty of disorderly conduct, causing damage to tribal property, or in any manner attempting to intimidate any council or staff member in the performance of their duties, will be prohibited from entry into or participation in any Community Center or Tribally sponsored activity.  Said bar to be effective until an apology is made and accepted by the offended party.  Should this behavior be repeated, the offender will be suspended from the community center until further notice or perhaps indefinitely.  Said penalty to be set be the Council.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT:  The Prairie Island Indian community Council does support the foregoing and believes this action to be in the best interest of the Community.

CERTIFICATION

This Resolution was passed at an Executive meeting of the Prairie Island Tribal council with a quorum present with a vote of 5 for, 0 against, 0 abstentions, on Dec. 28, 1987.
