Environmental Water Resource Intern

 

Seeking intern to assist in collecting water quality and biological data from area lakes, rivers, wetlands throughout the summer of 2010.  Must be currently enrolled in a four-year degree granting program, or a graduate with a background in biology, chemistry, hydrology, geology, environmental studies, natural resources, or similar.  Ability to work in various weather conditions.  Previous experience working with water quality monitoring programs desired.  Strong Microsoft and Excel skills.  Valid driver's licence and experience with motorized boats requried.  Applicant will be expected to do physical work including walking, lifiting, paddling a canoe, handling field gear and equipment; must be able to swim.  Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs. on occasion.  Indian preference applies in accordance with Sec.7 (b) P.L. 93-638.
